For long-standing clients, for whom we have designed three properties over the years, we conceived a complete transformation of the garden, including a 15 m × 5 m swimming pool and a 120 m² pool house designed as a contemporary leisure pavilion. Created for clients who love entertaining throughout the year, the pavilion incorporates spa facilities, a kitchen, a dining space and a cinema room, allowing the garden to function as a fully equipped extension of the house for both relaxed family use and larger gatherings.
We designed the external spaces as a series of distinct yet connected outdoor areas. A sunken seating area provides a sheltered lounge protected from the breeze on cooler evenings, while a black composite-decked terrace creates a dedicated poolside lounging area for sunbeds. Polished concrete coping and terraces in a warm white tone frame the pool, balancing the darker deck elements and visually linking the pavilion to the wider garden landscape.
Inside the pool house, we continued the architectural language through a restrained palette of rendered finishes. All interior and exterior walls were finished in a pale render tone to create a calm, cohesive backdrop. Within the spa sequence the atmosphere becomes more dramatic: the corridor leading is rendered in a dark, subtly sparkling finish, while the shower room features a pale render infused with mica flecks. The adjoining WC is finished in a deeper grey render with metallic elements, adding depth and contrast to the space.
A separate rear entrance leads directly into the spa area, allowing swimmers to access the shower and changing facilities without passing through the principal entertaining spaces. The 15 m lap pool, designed as the visual centrepiece of the garden, is heated using dual heat pumps to maintain the water at approximately 30 °C year-round, ensuring the pool can be enjoyed in every season.
