This project involved the redesign and decoration of a four-storey London townhouse for a client living with her three young sons. Despite the demands of family life, the brief was remarkably focused: the client wanted a calm, predominantly white interior throughout the house, with blue as the only accent colour.
The challenge was therefore to balance this restrained palette with the practical realities of a busy family home. Durable fabrics, robust flooring and hard-wearing finishes were carefully specified so that the spaces would remain both elegant and resilient. Across bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, surfaces were chosen to withstand daily use while maintaining the light, pared-back atmosphere the client loved.
White upholstery, soft textiles and natural materials create a sense of calm continuity throughout the house, while blue accents - in fabrics, artwork and detailing -
provide rhythm and identity across the different spaces. Even in the garden, the palette continues with white seating and simple planting, reinforcing the cohesive character of the home.
The result is a family house that feels fresh, ordered and quietly luxurious - a series of bright, durable spaces designed to support everyday life while preserving a sense of calm and refinement.
